Javier gets Baptized!

Woohoo what a week. A good week to be more specific.
We indeed are living the life.

Monday- Pday, like a 6/10 not bad.

Tuesday- Had like 3 lessons it was nice, very solid day.

Miércoles- Good, we had the interview for the bautismo de Javier and of course our mans passed I was hecka worried honestly but he passed and I was mega happy. Then we read 3 Nephi 11 cause Jesus talks A TON about bautismo and says the way we should be baptized and so that was cool to be like, you'll be baptized the exactly was Jesus commanded us to.

Jueves- Silly day made some good contacts and passed a nice street vendor and I copped a Argentina Jersey just in time for the world cup. So I'm looking like a real native now.

Friday- Satan that fetching nerd tried to ruin our sick week, we had like 2 lessons cancel and the busses were dummy late every time so we were down. But we were walking home at like 7 with not much to do for like 2 hours and passed these bros playing basketball and so we asked if we could hop in. They let us and of course I absolutely balled on the kids, they had no chance. But after we got one of their numbers and so hopefully we can turn 2 hours of schooling kids in ball to 4 bautismos.

Sábado- Best day of the week for sure our amigo Javier entered the waters of baptism and t'was glorious. We asked me to baptize him and I was honored. It was so hype I was dripping my all white fit,so you know I couldn't take a knee. (My round rock boys) love you Gray and Lafeber. Everything went great except I forgot a towel haha.

Domingo- So heat Javier was confirmed as a member of the church and given the gift of the holy ghost, and a miracle there was like double the people at church than there usually is so that was awesome. Then we picked up lunch, didn't eat it until dinner time, and a dinner with members mucha comida rica.

Dummy nice week, it's getting more chilly here and the Argentines think it's like -40 or sum cause they bundle down when it hits 65 degrees haha. Always remember to read your scriptures, it's probably the best way to come closer to Christ. Also prayer, if you do those two things with a sincere heart you'll be happy, if you don't believe me, try it :) L

General Conference in Spanish!

Hello, once again we're here. Good week conference hype!

Monday- Pday, chilling, not to bad. We went to a family night after and it was good. Talked about God. Pretty hype.

Tuesday- We had a zone Council, not bad. Took a ridiculous amount of pictures. The natives here love their fotos.

Wednesday- A nice little earthquake in the morning. Pretty hype haha.

Thursday- Zoomed to Albardon and taught our guy Alan. Apparently right before some kid was making fun of him for meeting with us and religion and stuff. So his dad called the kid over and slapped him around. We were mad though I wanted to talk to the kid. But we put Alan on date for the end of April so that's awesome.

Friday- We taught this old lad in the morning and I can't tell if he's super ready to be baptized or is just a whacky dude. We were like "and to know the Book of Mormon is true you can pray" and he said I already it's true! So like good but he might just be loco.

Saturday- Conferencia General. Gooooood, the talks about missionaries got be super hype. I would forward the invitation to serve a mission! It's a great time and you won't regret it.

Sunday- Temple in Austin!! Bendiciones to my boys Gray and LaFeber. The prophets' talk popped off. His 5 steps were very good. I also liked when he said "the joy of daily repentance" . I like that because oftentimes we see repentance as scary/ a punishment. But it's not! It's a divine gift!! And to partake in that gift, is such a wonderful blessing. Please everyone repent daily and feel the joy that  comes from being clean and worthy before God.

Good week not much happened but t'was good.

Pero No Es Como Muy Fuerte

The title means but it's not like very strong. Keep that in mind for later. This week was actually shamkin. It was really good, we had a lot of success. Even despite Javier's baptism getting postponed. (Yes I know very sad)

Monday- Heat pday, Hermana Guardia (de Buenos Aires) led us in making Empanadas and I was super bad at it but it was really fun and ultra yummy.

Tuesday- It was H. Richards bday! So we had district Council and had a lil party for her, they put these like crazy sparklers on the cake and so that was insane. Said bye to H. McMillan. Muy triste.

Wednesday- Insane, so we got all these warnings about this "strong south wind" coming in Wednesday night and I was kinda calling cap on em, cause I thought they were exaggerating. So we canceled a lesson and I was kinda mad but then we got a text to look to the south so we went outside and there was this enormous cloud of dust rolling in! Insane. So we took a vid and E. Ovejero said but it's not like super strong. But like 5 minutes later it got to us and we were dying haha we ran Insane it was crazy. So dusty and windy it was Insane. So while all my buddies in South America are getting crazy rain and stuff, we are getting dust storms haha.

Thursday- Triste day, we had Javier's baptismal interview but had to postpone it until April 9.

Friday- Fire day, really lifted our spirits after the interview. We had 2 plan of salvation lessons and just were super productive and felt the spirit in the work a lot. Really great day.

Saturday- Another mega nicely day. We had 2 lessons and found a family of 5 who are super ready to hear the gospel! Between those we went to a couple of members' houses with our ward mission leader and had a couple good lessons. Super productive and just grinding all day.

Domingo- Good Church, good lunch, good studies, gooood day.

Yes 'tis my week, t'was very great. I'm so gonna sound like my mom for a second so hold on, but I've noticed that it really is easy to let one thing ruin your day or your week. Especially this week with Javier, I thought my week was going to be sucky after that but it wasn't, we had a great rest of the week. So don't let one thing ruin your week. (I know mom, just don't make it a big deal)

Boca won!

Hola, cómo andan? That's a greeting they use that basically means how are you, but it's funny cause directly translated it means: How do you walk? So everyone, how do you walk? This week was great and we mobbed.

Monday- So we go shopping right and get some good and things then we go wait at a bus stop and I forget my bag of groceries :| and it got snatched, so I fed the streets. I was so mad but the rest of pday was great, we went to the Institute building which part of one of the Hermanas´ chapels. It was fun the zls were there and some other guys so we played some 3 on 3. It was sick. We also made burgers and those were nice and yummyyyyyy.

Tuesday- Good day

Wednesday- We went out and just knocked on previously taught doors and met some good people and had two good lessons.

Thursday- We zoomed to Albardón, it's like an hour bus ride away so we can't go there super often. But we had a lesson with a 12 year old and he's super great, shy but he'll warm up to us.

Friday- Solid we went to these inactives and the dad would not stop making jokes, I don't know if he was just scared to talk about the gospel or what but it was weird. Then we had a lesson with Susanna, our very old friend who is great, she is very open to the gospel which is great! She also made the most fire sweet empanadas to ever exist, even E. Ovejero was like dang so that's when you know they slap. Then we went to more previously taught people and we met these girls and they were the fastest talkers I ever met, my Spanish has improved a ton and I usually feel pretty confident but I was getting like every 10th word it was so fast and sloppy my comp was even like geez what are they doing haha so that was fun.

Saturday- Fastest day of my life, we had a little goodbye thing for Hermana McMillan before English connect and that was fun, then we went to a lunch, heat. Then went back and changed into suits for Stake conference. Stake conference was good and our mission pres was there so it was super fun to talk to him! Our bishop came up to us and Javier and was like, hey can we move the baptism to the next Saturday cause April 2 is Gencon. So we ended up moving it up a week to Saturday!!! So awesome, I can't wait for Saturday!

Sunday- It was sick to see the whole Stake, we got to see everyone at the same time it was awesome. We had a lesson with Javier and kinda planned the baptism a little and talked about some of the questions and the interview questions. I tell our guy is so ready to be baptized and can't wait. That night Boca Played River (the two really big soccer teams here) so the streets were silent, like during siesta it's quiet but during Boca v River there's no one out. Don't worry BOCA WON!!

Very nicely week. Transfers are tomorrow but basically everyone is staying so that's good but my man Lafeber is leaving and I'm mad about that but it's alright. I'm so glad to stay in San Juan and especially in Chimbas!

Elder Bednar Visits!!

Hola this week was so very good indeeeed. The highlight of course was riding a 3 hour bus again, seeing Elder Bednar came close though. It was the best, I loved it so much. Big news our district got to more missionaries!! And of course they are hermanas. So now it's us and 6 hermanas.

Monday- pday. Arguably the worst pday I had yet :( it's ok though. I'm cool with just kinda rolling with what the hermanas tell me to do. Haha.

Tuesdayyy- Exchanges, actually a hype day I was with Elder Servin, he's dope. He taught me a tonnnnnn honestly. So I'm excited to apply the new principles to my work. He's bitter sweet though cause he's kinda a hog like with the phone and the teaching but it's good.

Wednesday- Hopped on a wicked double decker micro and zoomed to Mendoza. Hopped on another hour ride bus to the apartment we stayed at. Reunited with a stud Elder Homer, (he came in with me). We chatted and then hit the hay. That night was miserable though cause they had extra mattresses but no extra blankets so at like 3 I woke up freezing (weird, I know but Mendoza is less hot than Juanyyy) so I went to go find a blanket and Elder Homer had this blanket that looks like a tortilla like a circle and everything, it's tiny but worked out all right.

Jueves!!- Woke up went and bought some food for breaky. Whipped up some fire Milanesa sammiessss. Got all dressed up in our suits and hopped on another hour long bus to the church. We got there reunited with all the bros, especially Draughon and Kastner. Capos. Then we sat in our seats and listened to prelude. Then everyone stands up and ELDER BEDNAR walks in (right past me too) so hype. He gave the most fire talk/Q&A sesh ever. We left and got sent to the offices to reset our phones and so I got to talk to a lot of missionaries for a long time. We got home at like 10:15 and I was out of my mind starving. Ate and hopped in bed. Elder Jofre and Yost used the curtains as blankets that night :)

Friday- Longest day of my life woke up, hopped on another hour long bus. Bought our tickets for the micro. It was late so we waited 2 hours. Rode the bus. Took a 30 minute bus to the apartment. Had a lesson and got a new. Good day.

Saturday- Back to the Grind. We taught Javier, and it was awesome we put him on date for April 2nd and taught him about tithing. He's so willing and said that he'd follow it. I love Javier so much and especially cause he says so many GOOD questions (not stupid ones like Jesus drank wine why can't we?) So we answer his questions as well as teach him, he's so ready and so elect.

Sunday- Good Church. Slow day not much happened. I fried some chicken nugs though and that was yummy.

Elder Bednar talked about so many things but my favorite was acting in faith. Jesus requires we act before he blesses us. He talked about the children of Israel and how they were walking into the water before Jesus parted the sea. "Their feet were wet" we need to walk into the water before he can part it. All his words were amazing but that is what stuck out to me the most.

Absolutely smacking week, very fun and very spiritual.

A trip back to Mendoza

Another week another dollar. Exciting week, less fast than usual so that was raro porque este semana fue muy ocupado. Pero sí, heat week nonetheless

Monday- Decent pday, I was crazy bored but luckily Hermana Richards saved me with her insane football skillage and I ran some routes and she was hitting me like perfect every time so that was fun.
Some of the most beautiful money I have ever seen!

Tuesday- Zoom zone conference (I hate zoom) (a lot). But it was good hard to focus cause it's on zoom and in Spanish but still good. Different than other zoom conferences though, I would've liked it to be more Spiritual but it's ok.

Wendesday- Funnnnnn day some other Elderes y yo had to zoom to Mendoza to get our Mendoza ID's so we hoped on a nice large bus and zoomed there, they were playing Black Widow on the bus and it took everything in me not to watch. We talked and read instead. We stayed at the GUYAMALLEN ZL'S CASA!  (My last ZL's) So I got to reunite with Elder Richardson again and that was the best we had such a blast chatting until bedtime.

Thursday- Their casa does not have AC so I was back to waking up on a very sweaty mattress. We went to the place to do our stuff it took like 5 minutes, kinda silly that we had to go all the way down to Mendoza to do it haha. But then we wondered around trying to find a place to eat breakfast ended up going to Mickey D's veryyyyy moderate meal. But here there are this things called medialunas (half moons) and they, simply put are mejor. They're like kinda croissant things with a sweet glaze, like every bakery has em and they are so delicious. Then zoomed back to San Juan copped dome fire lunch from our nice street vendor guy.

Friday- We had an awesome lesson with the guy we met at church on Sunday and his novia and her family (all members) but it was awesome they were super nice and like my confidence in Spanish suddenly went up a ton and I was talking a bunch and it was a really good time.

Saturday- El mejor día de la semana. We had 3 lessons including a restoration lesson with our new friend Max and his family and they seem so solid and can't wait to continue to teach them! Javier también, he said he wants to participate in the church "un pocito más" and then get baptized, so we're thinking this month for sure. So excited for him!!

Domingo- We had a good fast Sunday. Fasting is hard though especially in the sun. But it was good Javier came to church again. We had an awesome lesson with some inactives and it was super good very fun good people. We learned a lot and had a great lesson.

Great week super fun, Argentina is the best. I'm quite happy to be here. In the best news Elder Bednar is coming to the mission and that's so exciting! Thanks for the emails, I love you all so so much If you wouldn't mind keep emailing me :) Chao Chao
