I'm gonna miss this.

It came, not sure how, but here am I, my last week in the mission field. It's indescribable, sad but happy, exciting but nervous. Still doesn't feel real but I know it is.

I'm incredibly grateful for my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ. I have learned so much about them during these wonderful 2 years and never want to stop learning about their plan for me and their Gospel.

I love Argentina, this country and its culture have taught me so much. I especially love the people, being here talking to all kinds of different people in different circumstances and situations has taught me so much. I'm so grateful for all the people I've met here that have changed my life.

I'll miss this place like crazy, I can't thank my Father in Heaven enough for the experiences he's given me. I am a new person, I feel as if I have been born again.

I'll miss you Argentina.

The Golden Familia

Welp, a killer week it was! It was wild but quite good.

On Wednesday we went to Rawson for a blitz and all went hard. Then we slept in the house of Krawse. We woke up and went to Media Agua the next day for exchanges. We had some super awesome lessons and felt the Spirit muy good. When we got back to Pocito we cleaned out the baptismal font cause it was kinda gross. We purchased a wire brush and went to town on it. We got her all clean and then fixed the hot water and so we were all set!

The Elderes of Media Agua stayed in our apartment and we put the 2 mattresses we have together to make... mega bed! Then us 3 slept on it but my comp must be shy because he didn't wanna sleep with the homies.

We woke up at 6am and zoomed to the church and turned on that good hot water and then went back and changed and then went back to set up - it was fantastic! I was able to baptize the mother and daughter, and it was an awesome experience! I love the Gospel!

The next day at church, they were all confirmed and the Dad shared his testimony and it was sooo good. He for real- it sounded like he had been a member of the church forever.

It was an amazing week!

I love the family Albeiro with all my heart! I love you guys too!

Vamos Las Familias Eternas

Twas a good week, as always in el campo misional. Transfer news came and indeed I was quite uninteresting, we stayed the same. I shall be finishing my misión here with Elder Escalante. Shall be good.

I'm especially hype to stay because on Friday mi querida familia Albeiro got married!! Let's good, they're a family of gold and they're so fun to be around!

We went to the casa of Sebastián's mothers house and it was such a fun time, we ate a very delicious plate of alimentos and way too many treats but I love treats so it was my personal paradise. We talked for a long time and it was so awesome. We met their families and they loved having us! It was a blast. We played a little fùtbol with the children (with a 2 liter pop bottle of course(La Clásica Argentina)) and I kicked a root and jammed my big toe and it hurt extremely bad. My toe is now the size of a pumpkin but it doesn't hurt as bad anymore.

I love our guys though, they are soo elite. I'm so excited to see them be baptized!!!

Insane I'm on my last transfer, it seems unreal. I just really want to grind this transfer. It can be hard to get out there everyday, with all the distractions and excuses that Satan gives us. I'm really just trying hard to not let the excuses get in the way. My mom always said a phrase "make the hard choice" I've been saying it to myself a lot lately, it's the hard choices that we must make in order to be happy. I'm just a missionary out here trying to make the hard choices even though those choices are really freaking hard sometimes. I know the happiness and peace that the gospel brings are for those who choose the right even when the right in hard.

A solid week I hope your was too crazy that summer has started for yall. We're chilling here in the frío but I love it so we're good.

Getting Colder...

Hoolaaa

It's gotten decently cold here, so that's been good.

I went on exchanges last week and they were awesome, I went with Elder Sanchez and their house was ice cold and they don't have a heater but they do have a fire place so we got some wood and whipped up a nice fire and studied and drank mate by the fire. But don't be jealous.

Kinda a slow week not much happened, we taught a lesión with out man Victor, he recently was baptized and is crazy passionate about spreading the gospel, it's so awesome! We had a really awesome lesson with him and a kid who is discovering Jesus and it was sweet.

We had interviews this week and it was quite sad, it lasted like 30 mins because I didn't want to say bye to Presidente Judd -he shall be missed. It was a really nice interview though.

Me and my comp sang más cerca dios de ti (nearer my God to thee) at church yesterday. Twas good.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads!

Transfers are on Friday so stay tuned to see what happened!

The Promise Land

These last weeks were sick as heck, we popped off I tell you. I love San Juan, it's so hype.

We've been working with a wonderful familia, they're so awesome! they are going to get married on the 23rd and then baptized on the 1st!!! So that's super awesome!

Then we got our man Mateo who is also an extreme capo, and he's on date for the 15th!

Then we have a little girl who is also on date for the 15th!

So we have 6 people on baptism date right now and it's extremely sweet!! We're WORKING HARD with all of them to grow their faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement!!!

My comp is sooo goofy, it's so easy to mess with him and it's so fun. I'm also trying to teach him how to be an adult though, and that's less fun, but we're making progress jaja.

Ulisses Soares came on Saturday, that was soo amazing, it was just like when Elder Bednar came, where all of his words were straight bars and we're exactly what I needed to hear! Sooo sweet.

It was so fun seeing all the homes again! All the missionaries took a mission picture!!

Coolest thing ever, more than a year ago me and Elder Ovejero taught found this guy on Facebook and started teaching him (let me just say this has happened about 3 times in my while mission) anyway we got transferred out but the Elderes in Chimbas kept teaching him. One day I was chilling in the office and Elder Ovejero send me this pic of him in baptismal clothes!!! I was shocked because I didn't see to much potential I him but anyway that made my day. This week I went on exchanges with Elder Ovejero and Alexander came down to visit us! He told us he had very special news and showed us his mission call to CHILE!!!!!!! That made my year. Man it's so crazy, it made me feel really good because I feel like my mission isn't ending now, and that because of my efforts the things I did on my mission will continue to bless peoples lives not only in Argentina but also in Chile!!! Really cool experince, I'm really proud of my guy Alexander.

Little Well

I'm back in San Juan!! In Pocito (which means little well (as in woman at the well)) Very sick, I love this place! Everyone is so nice. Imagine, in 3 weeks we've met only one dude who was a little unkind! Like sheesh only one, this place is cool as heck. It's a little bit bigger than Cordón jajaja. Way bigger. It's good.

I just thought I'd say that and give a few little stories.

The sunsets are silly fire, love it!

My comp is aight, kinda whack, but chill. We're working good so don't fret. But he's new so we're working out the kinks.

There's a hot new phrase "de diez" which means "out of ten" so yall start saying it.

We got a fireeee family who are going today to see when they can get married! I'm extremely happy for my guys.

It's been really great, it's cooling down so that's "de diez", even a chilly in the noches! So nice.

We Found a grapefruit tree! T'was yummy.

Congrats to my cuz Nate who starts MTC today!!

I got My plan :(  (That is what the missionaries get when they need to start preparing to go home)

Good-bye Cordon!

Well folks, my time in Cordón has come to an end. It was a good time. It was also a wild time. Mañana I will be heading to San Juan again! I'm very excited, I love San Juan. I'll be in a more southern part called Pocito.

This week was good. We had a couple lessons, and hung out with my favorite people a bunch (Carmen & Josue of course) They fed us a meal like 4 days this week. They are so awesome, Josue was also ordained to the office of Priest in the Aaronic priesthood yesterday! I was very happy.

Matias came to Cordón and so it was good to say bye to him.

On Sunday when the familia Diaz found out I was leaving they threw us a surprise party. So my birthday is the same as my companions & the Dad of the Diaz Family! So they made sign that said "As if today was August 1st" and we ate cake and sang happy birthday hahaha it was awesome.

Great week, nos vemos en San Juan!

Happiest Day of my Life!

¡Bienvenidos mis amigos! I am pleased to announce that this week was infinitely better than last week, quite possibly the best week of my mission. I will be sharing multiple extremely happy experiences as well as other thoughts. Please join me as we go through this absolutely beautiful week.

This week we spent a lot of time with my favorite people in Cordón, Carmen and Josue. They were quite busy all week with all the things they had going on.

In Argentina the majority of floors are tile floors. Carmen and Josue's house is quite new (they built it themselves a little over a year ago) so their floor was made of concrete. However this week they decided to get the help of Josue's cousin to tile the floor. So they had to move most of the things out of the house or in a different part so the tiles could be placed. Their house is also about the size of an average relief society room. Anyway with all that in mind they were getting married on Friday so of course of course many preparations were to be made for the wedding.

On Monday we went by and found Josue to be preparing to pour some concrete over a gap in between to drive ways because his uncle fell in it and hurt his ankle. We then helped make the centerpieces for the tables at the wedding, they then fed us dinner.

On Wednesday we went to their house in the morning and when Carmen saw us she said they were about to call us to come over. They decided that since all of their things were outside it would be a good time to clean out and get rid of garbage (my dad's favorite thing ever) so we spent part of the morning cleaning with them. Josue then told us he was going to extend the patio and pour some concrete so we went to Tunuyán to switch companions (Because we had intercambios) me and Elder Alcaraz then went from 4-7:30 to help them with the new patio before we left they invited us to eat dinner but we said it was ok and we were going to visit some people but thanks! After we left we visited a few people and then we passed them buying some food to make dinner, Josue again invited us to come eat dinner with them later so we visited a few more people, and at like 8:45 we returned and they fed us dinner.

On Thursday we went and we peeled potatoes for the wedding for like an hour. Then we had a asado with the elderes quorum as a bachelor party for Josue.

Friday, we go to Tupungato and watch our dearest Carmen and Josue get married. It is quite difficult to describe the joy I felt as I watched them make that commitment to each other. We take a bunch of pictures and that good stuff and then we go back to Cordón and help them set up for the wedding. Unfortunately it started very late so we couldn't join the party. But we went to help them in their house and were able to talk for a little bit. (Quite shocking because they were insanely busy all day) We talked about the first covenant she was to make the following day and  she asked if I would baptize her.

Saturday, we headed to the church at 6:45 to start to fill the baptismal font. We had to jerry rig the hot water to stay on because when we stopped pressing it with our hands it turned off. We get the hot water working and leave it on while we go back to the house to get ready. We then go back to the church, turn off the water and go to Tunuyán to have a district council. We returned to Cordón and ran around trying to get everything ready with the help of our amigo Matías. We get everything going and everyone arrives, including Carmen who arrived 30 minutes late, due to many complications. We had a wonderful baptismal service where Valentina Mollo and Carmen Partes were baptized into the Lord's true and restored church of the earth today.

Sunday was the most peaceful day I have ever had. It was really crazy, and really beautiful. Saturday night we received news that Carmen was in the hospital for crazy stomach pain. The most sincere prayers were offered that night. We called Carmen in the morning, she said she felt a lot better and was healthy enough to go to church. We went to their house before the meeting and gave her a priesthood blessing. Although the house was quite rowdy, with her family there from the wedding and getting everyone ready for church there was such a peace. Carmen and Valentina were confirmed members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We gave a fifth Sunday lesson on covenants, which was perfect. We ate lunch with the Diaz family. Visited a couple of people and had dinner with Carmen and Josue. I'll say that it was hard to hide the immense joy and love for them.

These 2 wonderful people have truly changed my life, they are such amazing examples for everyone. This email is already super long and if I wrote all the difficulties and trials these guys went through it would probably be double the length. They endured through every single thing that tried to stop them and got themselves on the covenant path. The faith and desire they have to choose the right is unmatched. We were talking with Carmen and said they satan makes it really hard for new members to stay active and that he's not gonna stop trying to get you away from the Lord and Carmen said "Sí ya los espero" or I'm already expecting them. The faith of this woman!!! I love her. I can tell you all with surety that service truly is the key to love. I have spent the last 5 months serving Carmen and Josue and the last week about everyday and my love for them is immense. I can't stop thinking about them, they are some of the most amazing faithful people ever. They truly love the lord and want to follow the path that he has ordained for them. With all the problems that they had and trials that surfaced it would have been easy to drop it all and say this is too hard. But they didn't, they kept going trusting in the lord and his promises.

Many times this week including right now I felt as my Savior Jesus Christ did "And now behold, my joy is full." The gospel is true, not only is it true but it's the best, most beautiful thing to ever exist.

Another Week in the Books!

Welcome back again this week was something else, the worst events in all of my entire mission happen in the same week. T'was awesome.

We had exchanges, they were good.

We lost the keys to the house and now have to get in through the windows, pretty silly and actually quite frustrating.

The Branch Presidents daughter ran away and is in Northern Argentina right now, so we are worried about her...

The bus drivers lied to us and we missed our lunch with the RS president. :(

BUT! We have 2 baptisms this week so we're keeping our heads up!

Love all of you!

20 Months!

What is good all?

This week was good, a lot of the same stuff but it was good. We're prepping for the wedding of Carmen and Josue so we're super hype about that. It's set for the 28th. I probably already said that but I'm silly EXCITED about it.

I also figured out how to keep my comp in a good mood! So we were vibing basically all week! It was so good. Like best friend type beat. We laughed so much and had insane comp unity!

Yesterday was 20 months as a missionary. Que viejo que soy.

On Thursday we were on exchanges and were walking and we heard "Elders!" in english, so I turned around and saw this white dude running across the street. He introduced himself as former Elder Smith who served here like 4 years ago! T'was crazy he was here visiting with his parents so we talked for a while pretty crazy.

We had a fire lesson with this 14 year old girl who's going through a hard time. It was one of the best, most spiritual lessons of my life. We felt the spirit so strong and I truly felt like I helped this girl in need through listening to the spirit and the Lord put us where we needed to be! AN awesome feeling!

Good week, I love the Savior and his Atonement. I know he loves me and he loves you!

Happy Easter

What is up my absolute homies! I hope you all had an amazing holy week. I hope you were all able to think about our Savior Jesus Christ and what he did for us this week!

I was able to think about the wonderful sacrifice that my Savior did for me. What a wonderful week to be in the service of the Lord!! We made sure to teach about the resurrection and the Atonement as much as possible. It made me so happy.

We knocked on a door and then a small child ran inside yelling "Dad! It's the pastors!" We could barely breathe.

Had several fire lessons with people we haven't been able to meet with in a long time. We shared the prophet's talk even more because it's amazing!

We did lots of service this week and I loved it. We went to Josue's property and worked hard. Then the freaking awesome guys gave us lunch 3 days in a row!!

We made chocolate eggs with the senior primary and the youth to distribute them to less actives! Very fun.

I love all you guys! Be sure to think about Jesus and how much He loves you!
